London ancestors? New digital records from the 1910 Lloyd George Domesday survey

This week TheGenealogist announced its first release from work to digitise the Duties on Land Values documentation gathered between 1910 and 1915. Known as the 1910 Lloyd George Domesday Books, these maps and field books give details of properties, owners and occupiers across the country. This enables us to trace information about our ancestors’ homes, even when houses and streets may long since have been substantially changed or even demolished.

The valuation documents are available for viewing at The National Archives, but this new programme will see the materials available online. And if you have ancestors in The City of London and Paddington then you’re in luck, as these are the first release.
